Scent Marketing is a modern buzz word referring to increasing sales and branding a certain product with the association of scent. We all know that perfume companies have been doing this for decades.....Guess has it's own signature scent and branding as does Clive Christian # 1.

A newer  Mercedes Benz actually has its own subtle scents that you can activate such as Sports Mood, Downtown Mood etc. Here is a link to that interesting article ooh that Smell.

Many large businesses that have the budget for research, have now realized that scent can be a big factor in boosting revenues and also create a more positive customer experience.

We have a client that has significantly increased bar sales since adding a Citrus Scent to their area. Somehow this has triggered a stronger desire for customers to linger longer and enjoy another cocktail.

Casinos have seen an amazing 45 to 50% rise in revenues when introducing scents to their gambling areas. Since 75% of our emotions can be influenced by smell, a pleasant scent can keep a person feeling good and willing to stick around longer and play more games.

Many companies are now realizing that a nice scent in the work place can create a good mood and make an employee more productive. A study in Japan showed that a lemon scent helped reduce keyboard errors up to 54%. From an aromatherapy point of view, orange or citurs aromas are invigorating and helps keep you mentally alert.

Another notable study was done at the Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center netted the following: Patients reported 63% less anxiety and feeling of claustrophobia than patients who were not exposed to a Vanilla like fragrance.

I have over 20 years hand on experience with Scent Marketing and have found that persons mood is improved when exposed to a pleasant scent. In many cases, the fragrance does not matter a long as it is pleasant.

In other words: "A pleasant fragrance = a pleasant reaction.
